William F. White International’s 14th annual February Freeze technology showcase is coming up this Tuesday, Feb. 3. This pre-NAB exhibit, known for bringing together some of the brightest minds in the business with the latest innovations and technologies, will return to Toronto’s largest production support complex, William F. White Centre from 4-8 p.m.
“February Freeze has become a key destination for the world’s top industry manufacturers to showcase their newest screen-based technologies and advancements,” says Comweb Group Chairman/CEO, Paul Bronfman. “From students and emerging content creators to seasoned pros, The Freeze offers something for everyone.”
Last year’s event boasted the event’s largest ever attendance of film, television, and digital media production professionals, spanning regions from Ontario and the U.S. while showcasing the very latest technologies from over 30 prominent motion picture, broadcast, and live entertainment industry suppliers.
“We’ve decided to go big for this year’s Freeze,” adds Whites Director, Marketing & Communications, Lowell Schrieder. “Guests can expect a lot of changes this time around. We’re also very excited to introduce new entertainment features to the show along with all the latest and greatest moviemaking toys that Whites has recently acquired. Of course, there will be plenty of Lights, camera and action!”
“We’re super excited to be rolling out our brand new, custom-fabricated Camera Car, along with the latest breakthroughs in LED lighting technology from Kino Flo, Fiilex, Briteshot, Mole Richardson, and, of course, Arri to name just a few,” adds Schrieder, noting that Arri will be presenting a seminar on its latest lighting fixture, the M8.
Fiilex, which is a new lighting supplier out of California, will be at February Freeze for the first time, displaying its newest modular LEDs, which can switch from tungsten to daylight to suit the needs of professional DPs.
Guests can also expect to see new state-of-the-art dollies from Chapman-Leonard, including the Hybrid 4, the latest offerings from the Whites Specialty Equipment department featuring a wide variety of state-of-the-art remote heads and cranes, including SuperTechno Cranes, the new Mosys L-40 remote head, brand new 18k lighting from Cinemills, and more.
The company will also be shining a spotlight on some of its internal departments, such as Whites Interactive along with sister companies such as Whites Location Equipment Supply (Whites LES).
