A.C. Lighting has announced the appointment of Dorothy Brennan as vice president of human resources.
Brennan is A.C. Lightings’ fourth high-profile hire in recent months. According to the company, her hire comes at an appropriate time, as A.C. Lightings is positioned for exponential growth within the coming months.
Brennan brings over 20 years of direct experience and comes to A.C. Lightings from Canadian General Tower Limited where she held the position of VP of human resources. Prior to Canadian General Tower, Brennan was the director of human resources at RM2 Canada Inc.
As VP of human resources, Brennan will support the growth of the company, employing her skills with organizational policies and procedures, employee benefit design, performance management and talent acquisition.

Chroma-Q has appointed Paul Pelletier as Global Brand Manager.
Pelletier is a 30 year veteran in the performance lighting industry working for industry leaders, most recently Martin Professional in the role of solution manager. Bringing with him extensive experience working with key brands, Pelletier has been an integral asset in brand development and marketing. He has worked closely with product development, sales, marketing and technical support to develop products, as well as to promote and sell these products within the lighting marketplace.

Westbury National has announced the date and location for this year’s edition of the Imagine technology showcase. The third annual showcase of AV, conferencing, entertainment, and performance technologies will be held at the Royal Conservatory of Music at 272 Bloor St. W. in downtown Toronto. The event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. ET.
Imagine will bring together professionals who works with, support, or are passionate about audiovisual, conferencing, entertainment, or performance technologies. Altman Lighting has announced the appointment of Miles Dudgeon as its new Northeast regional sales manager for North America. Based in upstate New York, Dudgeon will manage the Altman Lighting sales efforts in the northeastern U.S., as well as Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland.
“I am thrilled to add Miles to our sales team,” says Nick Champion, Altman Lighting’s VP of North American sales. “His background working with industry manufacturers is extensive, and his work as an end user adds a perspective that will help him be able to quickly understand and address the needs of our customers and partners.”

The opening event for the 2017 NAB Show New York will feature Paul Liberman, chief operating officer and co-founder of DraftKings, the sports-tech entertainment platform, and Gary Davis, chief consumer security evangelist at McAfee, a leading cybersecurity company. On July 20th, nearly 250 ETC end users arrived in Madison, WI, for the fourth CUE conference. CUE, short for Create Understand Experience, is a professional development conference hosted by ETC every other summer.
This year’s classes were organized into one- and two-day-long tracks so attendees would have a more immersive, educational experience. Tracks focused on technicians, educators, general system networking, designing a better theater, and Eos console programming. The typical daily class schedule was enhanced this summer with optional Saturday evening classes.

Production veteran Mark “Drifter” Desloges has launched Drifter Rigging in Toronto. The company’s aim is to offer the Canadian market access to the most widely used automation products for mid- to higher-range productions.
The company’s first formal job was the extensive automation for the 2017 Calgary Stampede Grandstand stage, featuring Drifter Rigging’s Elevation 1+ variable speed chain hoists and Libra load cells. Additionally, in early July, Drifter Rigging and Kinesys USA hosted a Demo Day at Christie Lites’ Toronto location that featured the first North American deployment of Kinesys’ brand new Apex system.
