Christie has announced the acquisition of Allure Global Solutions, Inc. (Allure), an engagement and transaction technologies provider, as well as all of its products and services. The firm is headquartered in Atlanta, GA and will operate as “Allure, a Christie Company.”
Allure provides digital signage, point-of-sale and consumer engagement solutions, in the form of products and services, to a variety of entertainment and retail markets including theaters, restaurants, stadiums, arenas, convention centers, theme parks, and cultural attractions.

Apollo Design Technology has announced the appointment of Will Linnemeier as sales director. In this role, Linnemeier will be responsible for sales strategies to drive market expansion, sales effectiveness, and optimizing the dealer and customer sales experience. He also will manage Apollo’s dealer network and customer relationships.
“Will brings a ton of experience to the Apollo sales team. His leadership, understanding of the dealer relationship and ability to drive the customer to our products will make 2016 a very exciting year,” says Joel Nichols, president of Apollo Design.

The 28th annual LDI Trade Show and Conference returned to the Las Vegas Convention Center for its 2015 edition but was held a month earlier than usual, from Oct. 19-25. The show hosted over 10,000 attendees from more than 88 countries who came to see the 350-plus exhibitors.
Last year’s EMD@LDI program was re-branded PRODJ@LDI. The three-day education program, taught by the top trainers in the industry, provided in-depth DMX training. The LDInstitute program featured a number of sold-out sessions, including “Vectorworks Training for Technical Production,” “Introduction to Light Plots,” “Advanced Projection Design Solutions,” and more.
The LDInnovation & Technology Conference provided three-and-a-half days of technical sessions focused on design tips and techniques, new technological breakthroughs, and the latest projects.

A.C. Lighting Inc. has announced that Michael Krzywicki has joined the Toronto-based entertainment technologies distributor as its new chief financial officer (CFO), with immediate effect.
The companies’ current CFO, Rick Bradley will be retiring as of May 1st, 2016, and during the transition period leading up to his retirement, he will play a role focusing on strategic initiatives for the distribution of A.C. Lighting Inc.’s portfolio of technology brands.

Tour Teach East, the Dartmouth, NS-based sound, video, and lighting provider for concerts and events, was forced to the brink of bankruptcy back in August of this year following a series of financial woes that included one of its creditors, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), calling in a loan and then taking ownership of the company’s building. Now it has been announced that Tour Tech East has found a new owner in O’Regan’s Properties Ltd., but company founder Peter Hendrickson will remain company president.

ETC’s Hollywood-based office has hired R. Christopher Stokes to serve as its newest field project coordinator. As an FPC, he will help ETC West support the theatrical, rigging, architectural, and broadcast markets in the western United States and Canada.
Stokes was awarded an MFA in lighting design in 2010 from the California Institute of the Arts in Northridge, after earning a BA in theatre with minors in philosophy and computer science from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, in 2006. He was chosen to be a lighting intern at the Los Angeles Opera, as part of the Wally Russell Lighting Internship program. There, Stokes worked as a second assistant, updating lighting plots, drafting, creating focus charts and doing the tracking for moving lights.
