ETC and Barco announced today that they are in the midst of serious discussions wherein ETC would acquire High End Systems. While the timeline for the completion of this acquisition is still unknown, both parties say they are committed to moving forward with a successful transaction.

We at ETC lost a friend, a mentor, and a great role model this weekend with the passing of David North. He died peacefully on Saturday, February 25th after a hard-fought battle with brain cancer.

Longtime industry veteran Pete Heffernan has joined Christie Lites. Heffernan was president of Bandit Lites for eight years prior to joining Christie Lites and his career spans more than three decades, including as promoter of an Elvis Presley concert, lighting designer, production manager, and finally as corporate executive.

CITT/ICTS is preparing to welcome more than 60 exhibitors and over 1,200 visitors to Montreal for the third annual Expo-Scène trade show and conference, which is returning to the Palais des congrès de Montréal from April 12-13, 2017. Expo-Scène is currently the only major Canadian event dedicated to professionals in the pro audio, sound, lighting, audiovisual, video, and multimedia technology markets.
Prolight + Sound 2017, which runs April 4-7 in Frankfurt, Germany, will again be staged in the eastern part of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, as it was for the first time in 2016, which allows the fair to expand the spectrum of products and services, with many exhibitors boasting bigger presentations than before.
The NAB Show will be returning to Las Vegas from April 22-27, 2017. It is world’s largest electronic media show covering the creation, management, and delivery of content across all platforms. The theme for this year’s show is The M.E.T. Effect, meaning the intersection of media, entertainment, and technology, fueled by internet connectivity and integrated systems.

On Tuesday, February 7th, Whites played host to record-breaking February Freeze attendance despite a massive ice storm as over 1,000 production professionals descended upon William F. White Centre to view the latest screen-based technologies and advancements.
This year’s showcase featured an expanded footprint along with extended hours dedicated to providing opportunities for independent and emerging content creators. Wayne Korhonen, principal and owner of The CETEC Group, has announced a manufacturers representative agreement for Vivitek products. Vivitek, a brand of Delta, is a manufacturer of visual display and presentation products and will be represented across Canada by the CETEC Group.
