Lightfair International (LFI) set all-new records at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from May 7-11 with the largest trade show floor and largest Philadelphia registration highlighting its 2017 performance.
The trade show encompassed 277,600 net square feet housing 592 exhibitors, including 59 first-time exhibiting companies and 127 manufacturers headquartered outside the U.S. Exhibitors presented the lighting and design industry’s latest innovations and newest concepts from the world’s leading manufacturers. Two brand-new pavilions—Intelligent Lighting and IoT—displayed cutting-edge products and solutions showcased in product presentations featuring technology and connectivity innovations.

The Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) has announced an alliance with the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) to work with them in expanding the NAMM Show to include a special focus on the live event technology community. The show annually welcomes more than 100,000 professional attendees from 139 countries.
This opportunity was made possible by the addition of a new building coming online at the Anaheim Convention Center, where the show is held every January. The additional space will allow The 2018 NAMM Show to offer the event technology industry a diverse show floor, robust professional education, and a series of relevant networking events.

Belgium-based Luminex Network Intelligence has further strengthened its American sales force by adding A.C. Lighting Inc. in Toronto as a primary distributor in lighting. LS Media remains the distributor for AV markets in Canada. This news closely follows the recent announcement that Rik Kirby, owner of Allied SMD in Mission Viejo, CA, has been named to sales director for the U.S. operations of Luminex.

Belgium-based Luminex Network Intelligence has partnered with Allied SMD to broaden the company’s American presence.
Rik Kirby, owner of Allied SMD in Mission Viejo, CA, has been named to Sales Director for the U.S. operations of Luminex. “We’ve been growing quickly in the American market,” says Luminex CEO and co-founder Bart Swinnen, “and we’re looking forward to working with Rik to further develop our business there.”

The seventh international LED professional Symposium + Expo (LpS 2017) is going to be taking place from Sept. 26-28 in Bregenz, Austria. It’s dedicated to answering such questions as: For the next generations of lighting concepts to succeed a holistic approach between technology and the system is required, but how? How do the associated interdisciplinary developments require comprehensive knowledge of applications, designs and technologies in order to meet their potential?
Over 100 specialist lectures, workshops, forums, and in the exhibition, more than 1,600 visitors will be discussing the topics surrounding “Smart Technologies for Lighting Innovations.”

Rendez-vous 2017, CITT’s annual trade show and conference, will be heading to the Imperial Theatre in Saint John, NB from Aug. 9-12.
This year’s event will feature a similar schedule to that which was introduced last year. The trade show will have visiting hours over a two-day span on Thursday and Friday. The new Product Show ‘n Tell Breakfast will kick off the Thursday morning and there will be a Corporate Luncheon on the Thursday. Thursday night will feature the always-popular Swag Bingo. The Friday will feature the Ladies of the Backstage Happy Hour and Saturday will be the Caucus Plenary Breakfast and CITT/ICTS Awards Banquet in the evening. The annual general meeting will return to an AGM Luncheon on Saturday.

Austrian AV manufacturer AV Stumpfl has announced that Theatrixx Technologies is now its exclusive media server and show control distributor for Canada.
The Montreal based company distributes and manufactures technical equipment for the performing arts industry. Theatrixx also designs custom equipment that offers solutions for video, lighting, audio, power, and cabling challenges.
