Karl Haas Named as ETC Architectural National Sales Manager

On July 1st, ETC’s Karl Haas officially began a new role with the company as architectural national sales manager. Haas will be responsible for managing ETC’s architectural regional managers and the company’s sales territories of North and South America, India and Australia.

With this personnel shift, ETC has completed its official split of sales into three separate segments: entertainment, architectural, and rigging. “We see huge opportunities in architectural markets,” says Mark Vassallo, ETC VP of sales. “By separating architectural from the entertainment portion of our business, we are better able to serve each market segment and explore more sales opportunities. Karl did a great job as ETC’s western regional manager, and in his new role, I see no limits or ceilings on what we can accomplish with him at the helm. I believe our customers will be amazed at the changes they will see in the future.”

Solotech Names Normand Legault as CEO

Legault’s experience leading businesses, combined with the financial power of shareholders Claridge, Desjardins Entreprise-Capital Régional et Coopératif, Investissement Québec, and François Ménard, will permit Solotech to pursue its expansion via acquisitions while continuing to grow organically, according to the company.

Following its completed purchase of Midnight Hour Productions (MHP) in November, Solotech has officially moved into the MHP warehouse facility in Toronto. As previously reposted,  Midnite Hour’s founders, Marty Anderson and Louis Racine, as well as all of their employees will now be part of the larger Solotech team. The facility is located at 324 Horner Ave. in Toronto.

ETC Hires New VP of Finance

ETC Finance VP Jeff WelchETC (Electronic Theatre Controls) has named the new vice president of its Finance department: Jeffrey Welch. In this role, Welch will manage the financial strategy of the global company.

Welch holds a bachelor of business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master of business administration from DePaul University in Chicago, and passed the CPA exam in 1998. He began his career at the First National Bank of Chicago, in their Corporate Banking Group working with multinational companies. From there, he moved to what is now US Bank in Madison, where he served as vice president, managing their Commercial Banking team.
