LightFair International Returning to Philadelphia in 2019

LightFair International (LFI), the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, will return to Philadelphia’s Pennsylvania Convention Center in 2019 for its 30th annual staging from May 19-23, according to Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., chairman, CEO and president of LFI managing partner AmericasMart Atlanta.

Produced annually, LFI was last held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in 2017. LFI’s 2019 return to Philadelphia will follow its 2018 showing in Chicago at McCormick Place from May 6-10.

New Event Technology Segment Propels The 2018 NAMM Show

The musical instrument, pro audio, and event technology industries came together in Anaheim, CA for The NAMM Show 2018, which was held from Jan. 25-28 at the Anaheim Convention Center and surrounding area. With an increased presence from production technologies exhibitors and attendees, this year’s show was crossroads of business opportunities with countless product debuts, over 500 educational sessions, and 115,085 registered industry professionals roaming the halls, marking a nine per cent increase over 2017.

Educational Schedule Released for Expo-Scène 2018

03 Expo-SceneCITT/ICTS is preparing to welcome the Canadian entertainment industry to Montreal for the fourth annual Expo-Scène trade show and conference, which is returning to the Palais des congrès de Montréal from March 28-29, 2018. Expo-Scène is currently the only major Canadian event dedicated to professionals in the pro audio, sound, lighting, audiovisual, video, and multimedia technology markets.

Organizers say this year’s sold out show has expanded in size with a bigger hall and more exhibit space, which will host more than 70 exhibitors showcasing hundreds of products and new technologies. They are expecting around 1,500 attendees from around North America.

WFW Expands February Freeze to Two Days

10 Feb FreezeWilliam F. White is preparing to host the 17th annual edition of February Freeze. This technology showcase is a pre-NAB exhibit that lets production professionals navigate the latest innovations and technologies while connecting with one another. This year, the event has expanded to two days, Feb. 6th and 7th, and will once again be held at the William F. White Centre in Toronto.

Day one of February Freeze, from 1-9 p.m., will host the expected technological showcase with over 50 varied vendors on site. That day there will also industry panels and an interactive set. Day two will include a full day of scheduled programming with educational product demonstrations from equipment developers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CITT’s Ignition 2018 Happening This Friday & Saturday

01 Rendez-vousThe Ontario section of CITT is hosting Ignition 2018 this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 12-13). It’s a professional development event for students and working professionals held at Ryerson University’s School of Performance campus, just off Young and Dundas Square in downtown Toronto.

Friday January 12th will be CITT’s 15th year holding the Student Job Fair on Ryerson Theatre’s stage, followed by a Social Night hosted by IATSE local 58. The job fair is free and open to all, but registration is mandatory (the job fair is also included in the Full-event registration).

To be held from May 6-10, 2018, in Chicago at McCormick Place, the Lightfair International (LFI) Conference brings together thought leaders from across the globe to deliver the newest knowledge imparting the future of light, technology, design, and connectivity.  The pre-conference Lightfair Institute will be held from May 6-7 wit the trade show and conference on May 8-10.

The five-day 2018 conference program will feature 72 courses with 121 speakers presenting the latest information and concepts to attendees representing a broad spectrum of industries.  Under a curriculum developed by lighting, technology, and design experts seated on a select Advisory Committee, the LFI conference offers enlightening topics, speakers, and industry intelligence as a featured component of the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference.
