LDI Show To Bring Lighting World To Vegas

02 LDIThe 2016 LDI Show is set to return to the Las Vegas Convention Center from Oct. 17-23, 2016.

Now in its 29th year, LDI will host over 12,000 attendees working in theatre, concerts, clubs, theme parks, houses of worship, and a wide range of international live and broadcast venues. Attendees from around 90 countries will come to LDI to see the latest gear, refresh their knowledge, and replenish their creativity. More than 350 companies are set to exhibit this year, providing live demos and the opportunity for face-to-face discussions about their products and technologies.

NATEAC Announces 2016 Details

NATEACThe 2016 North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (NATEAC) is set to take place in New York City on July 17-18 at the Roosevelt Hotel. It will bring together over 300 professionals in the architectural, engineering, manufacturing, and consulting fields to discuss the issues faced in designing and building performance venues in North America in the 21st century.

CITT Rendez-vous 2016 Heading to Winnipeg

07 RendezvousRendez-vous 2016, CITT’s annual trade show and conference, will be heading to the Centennial Concert Hall in Winnipeg, MB on Aug. 18-20.

Organizers say this year’s event will feature a new schedule for the trade show with visiting hours over a two-day span on Thursday and Friday. Corporate Day with the New Product Show ‘n Tell Breakfast will kick off the Thursday morning. The Education Forum and Roadhouse Roundtable discussion are scheduled on Friday and Professional Development Day will take place on Saturday. The annual general meeting will return to an AGM Luncheon on Friday.

InfoComm 2016 Officially the Largest on Record

InfoComm 2016According to organizers, a record 1,000 exhibitors, including 211 new exhibitors, filled the Las Vegas Convention Center on June 8-10 for InfoComm 2016, occupying 527,105 net square feet of exhibit and special events space — also a show record. Attendees registered for more than 12,000 seats at InfoComm University sessions throughout the week, more than double the number engaged in training and education in 2015. Approximately one-third more unique attendees took InfoComm University training at InfoComm than in the past. The spike in training interest was driven in part by the 2,620 seminar and workshop packages sold. InfoComm 2016 was the first time attendees could pay one price and take any of more than 100 courses during exhibition days.

NATEAC Adds Two New Networking Events

NATEAC2012_0479The North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (NATEAC) has added two events to its roster of networking opportunities at the conference in July.

The first is a book signing which is planned for Sunday, July 17 in the ballroom of the Roosevelt Hotel.  A number of presenters and sponsors have recently published books and NATEAC wants to provide them with an opportunity to offer these books to the conference attendees.  “This is a perfect extension of the NATEAC mission,” says John Huntington, the moderator of the Networks on Shows and in Venues session and author of Show Networks and Control Systems, “and I’m thrilled to be able to participate.”

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has announced the preliminary registered attendance of 103,012 for the 2016 NAB Show. The exhibition featured 1,874 companies spanning 1,063,380-net-sq.-ft. of exhibit space

“NAB Show demonstrated again its power as the preeminent destination to make headlines, launch innovative products and connect with key influencers in media, entertainment and technology,” says NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton. “We’re thrilled with the tremendous feedback from attendees and exhibitors, and we are delighted that NAB Show continues to be a must-attend event for global content creators and distributors.”

CITT/ICTS is expanding the exhibition space for the second annual Expo-Scène trade show and conference, which is returning to Montreal from May 2-3, 2016, a month later than last year’s event.

There will be 50 per cent more space at the Palais des congrès de Montréal and organizers expect to welcome over 1,000 professional attendees. Seminars and workshops will cover health and safety, new and future technologies, and real-world technical advice.

Fourth Annual Backstage Access Show Brings Together Alberta Theatre Pros

19 BackstageAccessOn Tuesday March 1, 2016, The Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium hosted Backstage Access Production Expo.  This was the fourth year that the Jubilee Auditoria team presented this event to Alberta theatre venues, including community theatres, high schools, colleges and universities, houses of worship, and professional theatres.

The event featured a trade show with over 30 theatrical equipment manufacturers from across North America as well as education sessions on such topics as theatrical lighting, theatrical audio, stage management, and design.  The event alternates yearly between the twin Edmonton and Calgary Jubilee Auditoria.
