Syncrolite, LLC and Ballantyne Strong Inc. announced that the assets associated with Ballantyne Strong’s lighting business have been sold to Syncrolite.  Effective Dec. 21, 2015 Syncrolite has assumed all operations, sales, and support associated with Ballantyne Strong, including the company’s Super Trouper followspots.

A.C. Lighting Appoints Michael Krzywicki as New CFO

Michael KrzywickiA.C. Lighting Inc. has announced that Michael Krzywicki has joined the Toronto-based entertainment technologies distributor as its new chief financial officer (CFO), with immediate effect.

The companies’ current CFO, Rick Bradley will be retiring as of May 1st, 2016, and during the transition period leading up to his retirement, he will play a role focusing on strategic initiatives for the distribution of A.C. Lighting Inc.’s portfolio of technology brands.

Intellimix/AVL Media Group will be operating out of a new, larger facility in Ville St-Laurent, QC, just west of Montreal, as of Dec. 1, 2015.

The company says the new facility will feature a state-of-the-art showroom dedicated to all its product lines. Intellimix/AVL encourage all its dealers, consultants, designers, and contractors to visit and experience this new project.

A.C.T Lighting is now the exclusive distributor of Eurotruss in North America, which is one of the leading suppliers of aluminum truss systems worldwide.

After a successful entrance into the market last year, Eurotruss opened the doors of its new Knoxville, TN facility May 1.  From this location the company will supply North American customers with plated, spigotted and conical truss plus a full line of roof systems, wind-up stands, and stage decks.

Tour Tech East Lives On Thanks to New Ownership

Tour Teach East, the Dartmouth, NS-based sound, video, and lighting provider for concerts and events, was forced to the brink of bankruptcy back in August of this year following a series of financial woes that included one of its creditors, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), calling in a loan and then taking ownership of the company’s building. Now it has been announced that Tour Tech East has found a new owner in O’Regan’s Properties Ltd., but company founder Peter Hendrickson will remain company president.

Solotech Names Claude Régimbald as Director of Business Development, Quebec Territory

Claude RegimbaldSolotech has announced that Claude Regimbald has been appointed as the company’s director of business development, Quebec territory.

Regimbald founded Specs Audio in 1979, a company he successfully led for over 30 years. Following the acquisition of Specs Audio by Solotech in 2012, Claude spent three years as general director of the Solotech office in Gatineau and Ottawa. As part of his new role, Régimbald will be responsible of developing new market segments and collaborating with the Montreal, Quebec, and Saguenay sales teams.

Ontario Investing $1.5 Million in Live Theatre Across the Province

SouPepperThe Government of Ontario has announced that it is supporting live theatre in communities across the province to build interest in arts and culture, create jobs, and strengthen local economies.

Soulpepper Theatre Company will receive $1.5 million over four years to create a permanent touring repertory theatre. The touring theatre will create approximately 100 new jobs for theatre professionals, grow local theatre audiences, and boost tourism revenue and economic activity related to live theatre, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
