New World Rigging Symposium Sessions Announced

rigging symposiumESTA and USITT have announced the session lineup for the New World Rigging Symposium, taking place March 13-14, 2018 in conjunction with the USITT Conference and Stage Expo 2018 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In these 10 sessions, participants will be given the opportunity to further their technical knowledge, keep up to date with codes and standards, and learn what it’s like to work as a rigger in other segments of the entertainment industry. To be held from May 6-10, 2018, in Chicago at McCormick Place, the Lightfair International (LFI) Conference brings together thought leaders from across the globe to deliver the newest knowledge imparting the future of light, technology, design, and connectivity.  The pre-conference Lightfair Institute will be held from May 6-7 wit the trade show and conference on May 8-10.

The five-day 2018 conference program will feature 72 courses with 121 speakers presenting the latest information and concepts to attendees representing a broad spectrum of industries.  Under a curriculum developed by lighting, technology, and design experts seated on a select Advisory Committee, the LFI conference offers enlightening topics, speakers, and industry intelligence as a featured component of the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference.

Lightfair International (LFI) is set to return to Chicago’s McCormick Place from May 6-10. The pre-conference Lightfair Institute runs May 6-7 while the trade show and conference runs from May 8-10.

Attendees from around the world the latest and future products and solutions that are propelling the industry ahead. LFI is the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference and the 2018 trade show floor will produce its largest footprint in its history. Date & Location Revealed for Westbury National’s 3rd Imagine Technology Showcase

The new Product Show ‘n Tell Breakfast will kick off the Thursday morning with a Corporate Luncheon to follow. Thursday night will feature the always-popular Swag Bingo. Friday will feature the Ladies of the Backstage Happy Hour and Saturday will be the Caucus Plenary Breakfast and CITT/ICTS Awards Banquet in the evening. The annual general meeting will return to an AGM Luncheon on Saturday.

ESTA Announces New Alliance with NAMM for 2018 Show

The Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) has announced an alliance with the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) to work with them in expanding the NAMM Show to include a special focus on the live event technology community. The show annually welcomes more than 100,000 professional attendees from 139 countries.

This opportunity was made possible by the addition of a new building coming online at the Anaheim Convention Center, where the show is held every January. The additional space will allow The 2018 NAMM Show to offer the event technology industry a diverse show floor, robust professional education, and a series of relevant networking events.

The seventh international LED professional Symposium + Expo (LpS 2017) is going to be taking place from Sept. 26-28 in Bregenz, Austria. It’s dedicated to answering such questions as:  For the next generations of lighting concepts to succeed a holistic approach between technology and the system is required, but how? How do the associated interdisciplinary developments require comprehensive knowledge of applications, designs and technologies in order to meet their potential?
