NAB NYThe opening event for the 2017 NAB Show New York will feature Paul Liberman, chief operating officer and co-founder of DraftKings, the sports-tech entertainment platform, and Gary Davis, chief consumer security evangelist at McAfee, a leading cybersecurity company. Produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and co-located with InfoComm Connections, NAB Show New York will take place from Oct. 18-19, 2017 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. With more than 6,800 attendees and 300 exhibitors, NAB Show New York showcases next-generation technology for media, entertainment and telecom professionals with conferences and workshops focused on television, film, satellite, online video, live events, corporate A/V, production, and post.

The opening session with Liberman and McAfee is scheduled for Wednesday, Octo. 18 at 10:30 a.m. Titled “DraftKings, McAfee and the Future of Cybersecurity,” it will focus on trends in digital security, including evolving threats and best practices for protecting the safety and privacy of businesses and customers. In an age of growing connectivity and online commerce, security is paramount in protecting businesses and consumers from fraud, theft of intellectual property, ransomware attacks, “fake news” scams, and hacking, according to organizers.

“Ensuring safety and privacy is a daily priority for these two individuals and a growing concern for media and entertainment companies. These executives represent two companies that are leading the way by innovating and working with legal authorities to ensure that tech platforms are compliant,” says NAB Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown. “This session will provide critical insight on cybersecurity and how businesses can protect themselves from growing threats.”

Paul Liberman, along with two coworkers from VistaPrint, founded DraftKings in 2012. The company started as a small operation out of Liberman’s spare bedroom, and grew rapidly into the leading daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform it is today.

As chief consumer security evangelist at McAfee, Gary Davis partners with internal teams to drive strategic alignment of products with the needs of the security space. Davis also provides security education to businesses and consumers by distilling complex security topics into actionable advice.

In 2016, the NAB Show New York record 8,806 attendees representing a 22 per cent increase over the 2015 show. The exhibition featured 362 companies spanning 63,011 net square feet of exhibit space, a 15 per cent increase over 2015.
