William F. White’s 15th annual February Freeze technology showcase broke all previous records for the event, according to organizers. Taking place Feb. 9 at the William F. White Centre in Toronto, February Freeze 2016 welcomed over 1,000 attendees for the first time while the number exhibitors grew from 38 in 2015 to over 50 this year.
“There was just such a positive, electric atmosphere at this year’s Freeze, you couldn’t help but feel energized by all the vibrancy,” says Whites Chairman/CEO Paul Bronfman. “It’s no wonder that we have become the pre-NAB destination of choice for the world’s top innovators as we continue to lead the industry in showcasing the most diverse spectrum of ground-breaking production tools in Canada. I really want to thank everyone for joining us, especially those who schlepped in from out of the country for this unique and inspiring event.”
There were three expert education panels throughout the show, tackling such topics as education and training, the emergence of virtual reality technology, and how 4K resolution is impacting the industry.
For an extra bit flash, there were two Cirque Sublime aerial performances along with an open bar, food tables, and a DJ. The full list of exhibitors can be viewed at www.februaryfreeze.com/exhibitors.html.
“It’ll be hard to top the 15th anniversary edition of Feb. Freeze,” adds Whites Director, Marketing & Communications, Lowell Schrieder. “With over 1,000 attendees, we’ve now shattered all previous records of attendance and exhibitors (over 50 this year compared to last year’s 38), created an expanded and refreshed vibrancy to the show propelled by the addition of many new elements, including the Drone Zone, Virtual Reality experience, new lineups in our specialty equipment, and, of course, all the greatest movie-making toys available – all with prizes being won throughout the entire day. Who could ask for more?”
